This morning I stayed in the nest longer than I thought I would, but I enjoyed the extra rest. Everyone was being extra cuddly, and quite frankly so was I. Nivaki was unusually close with me today. He’s usually one who likes to be alone in the pack, but lately I’ve noticed he’s been wanting to cuddle with me at night, and I wake up with him next to me. I mean, I don’t mind at all, it’s just unusual of him. Maybe I should talk to him.

Wow what a wonderful evening! Me, Nivaki, and two others decided to go flying to one of the taller buildings together, one we haven’t visited yet, and the view from that high up is astonishing. We could see a distant city on the horizon from up there; I jokingly suggested we should fly to that city. While we were there, Nivaki was extra close to me. More often than not he was by my side.

Finishing up today, I’m back home in the nest with the rest of my pack. Nivaki is already asleep in front of me, and everyone else is getting ready to join me here shortly. I love this pack, I really do. After today it seems I may also have someone who loves me a bit more than the rest. :)

53.45%. That’s how much unreadable information there is on the Enchiridion. It’s sad really, so much to learn, so much to discover. Oh well, I’m going to keep trying to piece together these corrupt packets, see if I can make anything of it. I’m glad I have Kanivi by my side, she’s such a help, and a morale booster.

Turns out we might be onto something. Found five data packets that are corrupt, but nonetheless somehow fit together. Kanivi says this isn’t the first time she’s seen this.

Well wouldn’t you know, we managed to reconstruct the missing and unreadable segments of data, and inside it was a blueprint for - of all things - a piece of aeroponics equipment. When it comes to this cube, you really can’t predict what you’ll find.

Here on Ryjira we don’t get that many visitors from non-Viali species. Mainly because no one seem to be equipped to handle the temperatures here on our humble planet. Out of all of the traders and merchants and diplomats I’ve seen from different civilizations and species, they all seem to have some kind of similar biology, and it’s not like ours. As each day passes, I’m starting to wonder if we’re the only species in existence that isn’t hydric acid-based. This biology gap between us and all other species makes relations a little tough, since both sides are on a no-touching basis. If we did touch a hydric acid-based creature, we would burn, and they would freeze.

Maybe someday we’ll discover a species who is like us - biology-wise. It would be nice to know we’re not the only ones like this. I suppose in a way, even if we are alone in biology, it makes us unique.
